And it's interesting to see how I can 'tweak' it a bit from the cold reading with just a bit of insight from you ...

Do the tweaks make it make any more sense?
Everything makes more sense now. Thanks for you help!

Wow, you have to ask? :?

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.

That's cool 'cause even if I do the switcheroonie it wouldn't be for months, probably spring or summer.
Does that help you?
I figured I'd ask a specific question 'cause nobody else did :P

Well ... At 'months' we're on the far end of what I've been able to get from the runes. 2-3 months presses the limits, it seems.

But ... We'll see what we get, no?

I certainly hope you come back and explain! Or is it just life in general that makes more sense now?

Life in general makes more sense now, but the reading is a slightly better fit after the amendments, but as it's always easier to claim it's a hit by using Texas Sharpshooter methods that's hardly conclusive.

Anyway as I'll be using the ideas contained in what is written as part of my general tapestry of "Ideas On What To Do" some of what has been said by Hex will also be self-fulfilling. That it's partly self-fulfilling, in the sense that making such a forecast influences the future of the one reading it, doesn't really change the truth value of the original prediction of course, be that positively or negatively.

Cheers!

Well, I'm glad things are making more sense.

And you're right, the readings are always sort of self-fulfilling; any time you get insight into what's going to happen (or predicted anyhow), it will influence the way you view events because you'll be expecting or looking for it.

And hence, that concept the Norse had of a flexible örlög, that is part destiny and part human intervention. In essence, the very information one gets from a reading inherently changes the future through the imparting of knowledge ...

Which is why, when I was reading cards, I'd always do two readings back to back.

The mere knowledge of future events will change the future, y'know?

-- unless you believe in utter determinism; the stars compelling instead of impelling, so to speak.

I don't.

I think on the one hand, it's so much easier to believe 'it is written', as that not only explains the unexplainable, but absolves the individual of both personal responsibilty and responsibility for his/her 'brother'.

But it is in practice, very very unbelieveable.

(I did adore that line in Lawrence of Arabia, though. )

In the long run, it is written that we all suffer and die. In the short run, however, we get a great deal of freedom.

Good thing life happens in the short run.

Post Re: Skeptical Divination ...
okay hex found the correct thread..
I will put some thought into the question, as I know its just as much as how the question(s) are asked as far as general or specific....do I need to post it here or pm?

As far as reading goes myself, I think its harder to read for yourself than for someone else, due to the nature of the ego.
